I decided to up my workout game by trying a pre workout drink. I've come a long way in the past few years, not only with my workouts, but with my nutrition as well. Whenever I heard the word, shake, meal replacement, anything related to that sort, I would automatically think it's for gym buffs and body builders. I like making my own at home shakes that included greens, milk and fruit. However, I felt I need more. So i tried shakeology and that has been a game changer. Taking the plunge on that has been an amazing decision in my health and fitness regime!
Beachbody just came out with their performance line that is centered around your workouts. So I decided to take the plunge again and try it! I've only tried the pre workout one Energize, but there are ones to try during, after and before bed. Those are supposed to help repair muscle and leave you less sore among other benefits. Having never tried a pre workout anything, and the fact that I can barely drink water before I workout, I was scared! I'm one of those people who feel the water sloshing around during a workout, so I do better on an empty stomach lol.
So I've used this the past month on days where I'm dragging getting out of bed and working out. I drink it 10 minutes before I workout and by then and even during, I am energized! I don't feel jittery, just energetic, and it helps push me along during a workout when I was originally wasn't feeling it. It tastes like lemonade and it's not a lot to drink. Plus surprisingly, my stomach has had no issue with feeling heavy or sloshy during my workout!
I'm a fan, (especially of the ingredients) and want to try the other drinks in the performance line! I am definitely not a gym buff or a body builder, far from it. I'm a momma who also works full time and just trying to be lean and healthy. This drink is for anybody!
